It's difficult to call so early, but I don't see this getting near the levels of awesomeness their first two records have. Here it's just a bit slow and dragged out, and dare I say a bit plain. The two singles are great though and while there's nothing bad, there's not too much else to get excited about. 3.75

enttäuschung des jahres. ein einfach nur katastrophales werk - jeder song ist ein einziges klang- bzw. lärmexperiment. keine ahnung was für einen miesen trip die hatten, als sie diese musik komponierten, aber gute psychedelische musik funktioniert anders.

Zum Glück habe ich MGMT für mich gänzlich anders kennengelernt, völlig ohne ihren Hype. Mir ist es nämlich letztendlich völlig schnurz, das sie mit Kids & Co Riesenhits landeten.<br><br>Es geht mir nur um den Sound, den Stil, die Stimme - was sie damit bei mir persönlich erreichen!<br><br>Und in diesem Sinne, ist MGMTs selbstbetitelte Album nicht schlechter als ihre Dauergäste in den Radios und Musiksendern, nämlich ebenfalls ein richtiges geniales Werk!<br>

Kann da Trekker nur zustimmen voll und ganz ....<br><br>allerdings tragisch was aus deren Karriere geworden ist <br><br>Aber naja ein Hitalbum, dass es sogar auf Anhieb in die Liste der 500 grössten Alben aller Zeiten des ROLLING STONE Magazines schafft, kann man nicht am laufenden band produzieren
