Das Titelstück ist ein Meilenstein....<br>Born to Run zähle ich zu den besten Springsteen Songs überhaupt.<br>Der Rest ist bei allem Kultstatus trotzdem höchstens durchschnittlich..<br>

One of the best albums of all time, I reckon. It has a more raw sound to many of Bruce's other albums, although as he developed and became more popular you expect the grit to disappear sort of, so it's not a bad thing as such. The instrumentation complements his songwriting and vocals so well, the piano infused tracks and the saxophone breaks all come together to make this an amazing album! Fantastic from beginning to end with no dud to be found. 5.5/6 |

Den Sound, den der Boss auf "Born to run" hat, gefällt mir sehr gut. Aber nicht alle Songs überzeugen und so richtig eigentlich nur der Titelsong.<br><br>Das Album wird im Buch "Hall of Shame" von Jim Derogatis und Carmél Carrillo kritisch beschrieben.<br> |

Empfand ich ähnlich wie "Darkness on the Edge of Town" als angenehmen Stoff vom Boss. Der alte Stil mit mehr Einflüssen von Jazz, Rhytm & Blues und Folk-Rock gefällt mir besser. Die Songs haben hier auch noch mehr eigene Charakteristika, weshalb nicht die Angst haben muss, den Songs nicht mehr den Titel zuordnen zu können, weil sich alles gleich anhört.<br>Ein richtiges Highlight auf der Platte? In meinen Augen Fehlanzeige, dafür durchweg angenehme Musik - nehm' ich! |

I have avoided Springsteen for far too long, over the years i've heard these songs in parts but not as a package and i'm thankfully pleased that I enjoy something previous 90's because that's my induction to his work.<br>Skeptically because of the title track I wasn't too sure but what a journey it takes you especially after the aforementioned track.<br>Highlights for me are 'Meeting Across The River' into 'Jungleland' which could be my favorite Springsteen combo. <br><br>33/48 |
