The Cure waren ja in den Charts immer die ewigen Zweiten. Grandiose Songs wie Lullaby, Boys Don't Cry, Friday I'm In Love, Lovecats, Just Like Heaven oder A Forest kennt eigentlich jedes Kind. Und doch hatte die Band um die Galleonsfigur Robert Smith nie wirklich grosse Welthits. So war es auch hierzulande. Eine tolle Greatest Hits, mit Hits die gar nicht wirklich great sind. Sympatisch! |

JAAAA! Beinahe eine 6!!! Leider hat es ein paar Ausfälle bzw. schwächere Nummern mit drauf (z. B. «Never Enough» oder «Wrong Number»). |

Die Band hat zwar eine gewaltige Karriere hinter sich, denoch ihre Best-of Sampler sind nicht so toll.
Das liegt darin, dass sie ihre besten Songs nicht als Single veröffentlichten.
Wie schon beim vorigen "Galore" Sampler exakte 4.44

Wunderbare Zusammenfassung ihrer langen Karriere. Mir gefallen ausdrücklich auch die neueren Songs. Muss man eigentlich in der Sammlung haben.

Für diese "Greatest Hits" von The Cure gilt das gleiche wie bei der von den Bangles: Manche Lieder sind für mich unvergessene Perlen (vorallem "Friday I'm in love") und auch hier frage ich mich immer wieder warum keine einsigste Scheibe der Jungs um Robert Smith in meinem Regal steht! 11 von 18 Liedern bekommen von mir die Höchstnote, der Rest fällt da leider ab! Trotzdem gebe ich gerne 6 Sterne, weil's einfach klasse Musik ist. Und ich Robert Smith rattenscharf finde ;-) |
